We arrived at this colorful and unique town on a rainy night, after a long day on a bus.
Firstly we jumped out in the middle of the town, where the bus station was located.
Secondly, we had a glimpse of the central square as we ran looking for our hotel situated completely on the outskirts of the small village.

After our wet check-in, we walked the streets of Jardin.
It was dark and deserted as a result of the heavy rain.
Straight away we thought that maybe this was just another Colombian town, in other words, with no special charm or character to make it stand out.
However, our surprise came until the next day…

In the morning we looked for a place to breakfast, to our astonishment, the main plaza was effervescent and alive.
The cafes, bars, and restaurants were overflowed with the most authentic Colombian characters:
Old Doñas smoking cigars and men wearing sombreros.
All of them sipping tinto coffee and aguardiente.
An image that we didn’t see often in Colombia, in other words, a truly preserved purity of costumes and traditions, as if the pass of time hardly changed something in the way of living.

For us, above all, this was the main attraction and charm of Jardin.
A genuine amusement park for street photographers, where you can capture photos of the most colorful daily lives.
If you want to experience a piece authentic Colombia, certainly, you should add this destination to your itinerary.

Almost with no tourists, Jardin is sure to be all yours to explore. 

Without a doubt, Jardin is our favorite pueblo in Colombia.
